Vervet Monkeys and Chacma Baboons tend to raid any and all spaces and places where there is an opportunity to create chaos and of course grab a bite of western-style sugar, carb, salt and/or alcohol laced foodstuffs to gorge on. They also have a habit of roosting in safe, dry locations such as industrial warehouses, manufacturing plants, shopping centres, etc where they cause damage to often valuable stock on the floor.

A large proportion of the Chacma Baboon troops in the Western Cape were born and raised in an
urban setting (and not in a mixed environment cohabiting between urban and wild), and as a consequence they have no inherent foraging skills as they are totally reliant on the urban food chain,
i.e. food leftover waste, veg and fruit gardens, domestic and commercial kitchens, etc.
